James Casey is Counsel in the "arbitration" team in Gide's London office.
Specialised in international arbitration and dispute resolution, James has acted as counsel and advised clients in arbitration proceedings in the energy, construction, space, telecommunication and sports sectors conducted in both French and English under the auspices of several institutions (ICC, LCIA, SCC, VIAC, CAS) applying the laws of various jurisdictions. James is also experienced in litigation matters including substantive commercial disputes and proceedings ancillary to arbitration.
Since Brexit, James has been central to building a trade remedies practice in London, expanding on the firm's extensive experience in Brussels. James' work has involved advising on active UK dumping and subsidisation investigations, as well as related matters such as circumvention.
James completed his degree at the University of Durham (BA Hons) before converting to law. He is a Solicitor Advocate (England and Wales) and Avocat au Barreau de Paris.
