Célia Alao

Célia Alao is an associate in Gide's "Projects" (Finance & Infrastructure) team in Paris.
She assists governments, sponsors, and financial institutions with infrastructure, energy, and natural resource projects in Europe and Africa. Célia also acts as an advisor on tourism sector projects and urban development projects incorporating new technologies (smart cities) in Sub-Saharan Africa.
In the energy sector, Célia notably supports ContourGlobal in the conversion project of power plant to gaz/HFO in Senegal. Additionally, Célia has assisted EDF in a tender process for the supply of nuclear power plants in the Czech Republic. In the infrastructure sector, she has advised the Ivorian Government on economic and industrial zone projects and MSC Group on port terminal projects.
Before joining Gide, Célia worked within the Legal Department of PROPARCO and in other Parisian law firms. She also practiced in Benin as a legal advisor. She has a thorough knowledge of OHADA law and UEMOA regulations. Célia graduated from the University of Paris René-Descartes and the Sorbonne-Assas International Law School in international business law. She has been a member of the Paris Bar since 2018.
