Gide’s Casablanca and Brussels offices assisted DFDS A/S, a European leader in the ferry and logistics sector, with over 12,300 employees and an annual turnover of 3.6 billion euros, on the Moroccan aspects of the acquisition of FRS Iberia / Maroc, which operates ferry lines in the Strait of Gibraltar.
The completion of the transaction took place on January 10, 2024 after the satisfaction of several conditions precedent (including merger control clearance in Morocco and Spain).
Gide's team was led by partner Simon Auquier, with senior associate Salim Zobiri and associates Benoit Pape and Constance Holman in Casablanca. Partner Ségolène Pelsy and associate Perceval Renié in Brussels handled antitrust aspects and merger filing in Morocco.
In this transaction, Gide worked closely with Spanish firm Uria Menendez (lead counsel on this Transaction) and Cyprus firm Chrysostomides.
